How would you determine what it is - "career consulting." This is a very capacious concept ... Suppose you would be the author of a textbook on career consulting. What a brief definition in the preface would you give him?

In the preface, it is customary to talk about the main and the origins. So in the preface of the textbook on career consulting, I would begin with the fact that it is a real career driver. This is personal growth. Any career begins with work on its restrictions and fears, the study of their strengths, from the analysis of their goals and desires. And only then you need to start looking for “tools” for a career - a profession, company.

So the career consulting or career growth textbook is about how to work on yourself, how to find a new version of yourself and implement it in professional activities. Or, if you bring the definition closer to the “scientific”, then career consulting is a set of HR processes, psychological and coaching instruments using which a person receives the planned result. It was always easier for me to trust practices.

What background you have for what you are doing now. What did the career consultant Anna Popovich do before she became a career consultant? Almost all her life she worked in personnel management. For six years I have been the head of the HR Department in the company from the production sector. Then - the head of the personnel department in the largest network of restaurants.

Later - the management company of a large agro -industrial holding. There I did not lead the department, but was a manager for assessing, training and development of personnel. The prototype of what you are doing now? To some extent yes. We created a personnel reserve, made a development plan and career growth for top managers within the group. With all the accumulated experience, I decided to try myself as a consultant and work on a project basis with small and medium -sized businesses.

Projects were in the field of the formation of business processes of personnel management. In small and medium -sized businesses, there is such a need, but HR departments are not yet and the owner is inquired to help him organize this work. In fact, it was a prototype of my current activity. But at that moment I received a very interesting offer, by the way - also “project”. It was about the international company for express delivery, which only entered the Moldova market, to begin to build the HR department.

The temptation was great, I agreed and in four years I managed to build a well -developed HR system for this company. It was during the period of work in this company that I received a new education for myself - for six months I studied career consulting. Here in Moldova? No, we have not yet been taught this discipline. The training was in two places, in the European School of Psychology in Ukraine and in a private company in Moscow, which specialized in the field of HR consulting.

I have been fond of psychology for years, passed a lot of courses and trainings for myself and the career consulting was like “cherry on the cake” - in it, in fact, all my practical knowledge was accumulated over 12 years of work with personnel. And you decided to open your own company? I am sometimes joking that I am my best case. But my last year of work “for company” was what was happening to many managers.

Moreover, I had it in the most pronounced form. Good company, good salary. Ambitions are implemented. The atmosphere at work is excellent. Relations with the leadership are beautiful. But ... but? .. But something was wrong. I was no longer drawn to work as before. Moreover, it was doubly difficult for me. When you are not satisfied with work, payment, toxic team, it is easier for you to decide on changes.

But when everything is fine as it was with me, it is not easy to get out of the comfort zone. But I decided. And now, in April, it will turn a year as I am doing career consulting. Where did you start? From friends and acquaintances. Problems with self -realization and with a career can be found in every step. The question is not in demand for the service, it is very high.

The question is that people learn that there is such a service and that problems can be solved not alone, but based on the experience of a specialist. In my case - also on the experience of my work with people and their career growth not in the simplest companies. And this experience can be transferred to any major company. And my experience in project work taught me how to work with small companies and with their owners.

So, after all, who is your client? Specialist or owner of the company? Fifty to fifty. It often happens that the owner of the company appeals to me to build business processes of career growth and development of staff in his company, but, in the end, takes sessions in personal growth. You talked about sessions. How are your consultations built in practice? Need one consultation?

Or do you need to meet you for a year? After a year of work, I formed three sessions. Three, five and ten sessions.One meeting will definitely not bring the result, it all goes to acquaintance and to begin to determine the true values ​​of my interlocutor, often he himself cannot immediately formulate them. Three sessions are for those who have already formed a clear request.

Who knows what he wants, but cannot decide. To get a new company, to leave the toxic team, in general, is for those who have one problem and it is clearly understandable. Five sessions are when questions are related to changes, primarily in themselves. For five sessions, we manage to explore ourselves, our values, to understand what movement options are. And in five sessions we manage to build a career track, there is such a term.

A step -by -step action plan. And ten sessions? This is when a person needs mentoring. Or he approached global changes in his life. When a person worked all his life in a bank, unhappy and decides to leave everything and start life as a designer. I do not invent this, I tell the real case. Which, by the way, brought me to the threshold of a new direction in my activity ...

What? For my client, I consulted with the owner of a creative agency for professional education for designers in Moldova and, in the end, this meeting also resulted in our work with him - he became my client himself and later brought my team to me. And the request for professional education has fallen on fertile grounds and now we are working together on the creation of training courses for a number of specialists.

And I will teach there too. But in the focus there will still be a career consulting? Found the answer? Most of all I like to help people grow.
