But in the zone of existing military conflicts he had never worked before. He was in Transnistria and Abkhazia, where there were still shootings in the Galsky district in the fall of the year. Then for the first time I came there with the Krasnodar group of VGTRK: with Alexei Balakirev and Mikhail Kirtoki, we witnessed shelling by Georgian saboteurs of employees of the local Abkhaz administration.

There were a lot of filming associated with criminal plots, as well as natural disasters. He met situations for the first time in the Donbass for the first time. But you need to understand that a military correspondent always remains a journalist and never becomes a military man. Our task is simply to talk about what is happening. Tell the truth. Talk about people. Like the Olympics, for example.

There are simply still certain risks. Stressful situations. It is necessary to be morally prepared for troubles, which are unlikely under other circumstances. In other words, strong nerves are needed. I have not needed any special special forces yet. The older children - the son of Svyatoslav and the daughter of Vera - call constantly. Mom wants to see for a long time.

It so happened that a year has passed on business trips. A wife with a small child in her arms is now in Moscow: my daughter Taisiya was born last year ... Everyone wants me to be away from the war. This is natural. And I want no war at all. But, if she is, someone must tell about her. Because it is important to people. In the Donbass, they often approached the street, thanked for the work.

A lot of messages come from Crimea - and there you had to work. Kuban friends often call. Cossacks from the Taman department support. I met with them in Donetsk when they brought a beautiful city to humanitarian aid. There are good people in most people live. And they walked through the streets “they” with black and red flags. With the shouts of "Muscovites on the knives." Aggressive to all dissenters.

Even then. When they say that in Ukraine they came to this gradually - not true. It’s just that this “infection” over time captured more people. But the initial aggression of the instigators was from the very beginning. And the first impression was precisely the surprise from the non -understanding of how such radical and marginalized groups could come to power in a normal society.

Now the technology of the coup is generally understandable. But then I was very surprised by such a dissonance - an old city, cute citizens and aggressive radicals in power in one bottle. And I never felt Ukraine to someone else's country. I understand the Ukrainian language well. Yes, including family roots there. Therefore, such Ukraine shocked me. More and more. In this whirlpool it is difficult to sometimes highlight something.

Every dead person is already terrible. The schools were closed for a long time. The calmness of a woman, in the eyes of which her husband broke, misfortune without a scream seems even worse than shelling on Kuprina Street - a lot of torn bodies, a blow in turn people behind bread near the House of Culture of the Kuibyshevsky district - a torn hand squeezing a loaf, a young guy -dantzor, Artyom, his leg was torn off under fire to be next to his daughter and wife from his daughter and wife from his daughter and wife Gorlovki, where three children died from one explosion, and their parents buried them ...

They remember every day. And every story. It’s hard to run a lot, it’s hard to go to where the shelling is going on.
