Vladimirov Artemy Archpriest Biography

Books about the author in our family, dating back to Glebov and Bezobrazov, were not clergymen, although the priests of the ancestor belonged to Orthodox confession. Baptized with the twin brother in early childhood, I did not even think in those days the sixties of the twentieth century about the service of God and the mother of the Church, from which he was alienated by ignorance and disbelief.

The coup in my mind occurred after the death of the grandmother of Lyubov, who put his whole soul into the upbringing of grandchildren. The search for communication with it ended with my arrival at the Church of the Holy Prophet Elijah, in an ordinary lane, and the first deep confession. Then I was already a student of the philological faculty of Moscow State University.

The subsequent churching was much influenced by the luminaries of domestic philology, especially Nikita Ilyich Tolstoy, who became my supervisor. He “protruded” to me both marriage and staying in the walls of the Moscow Theological Academy, where I taught Russian and Church Slavonic for more than 10 years, having previously worked in the Soviet school as a “young specialist”.

With great reverence, I belonged to the priesthood, which I took on the night of Christmas in the year, at the suggestion of the Lord of the rector Alexander Timofeev, Archbishop Dmitrovsky. Shepherdnishness has become a matter of my whole life. The patriarchal blessing I was appointed rector of the Moscow Church of all saints, in Red Selo.

Twenty -three years later, in the year, the Alekseevsky Convent was revived here, by decree of Holy Cyril, who appointed me the obedience of the confessor of the monastery. Shepherdance and pedagogy were brought together in my modest ministry, the main element of which I consider a living word. With the blessing of the Holy, twice a month I leave my native monastery to missionary and educational trips for communication with compatriots of all ages.

Transmission on modern Orthodox television and radio channels helps this work, as well as the publication of my books of pedagogical and spiritual and moral content. On the pages of this site, I would like to contact my compatriots with the word-reflection on repentance. It is the only way that introduces the eternal life, which is granted to people by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and His Church - the immaculate bride of the Lamb of the crucified and the risen.

It is very important that all the thoughts and words of modern preachers are a reflection of the Holy Scriptures and the Tradition of the Church, that is, they were fed by the patristic spirit, learned by the feat of personal repentance and cordial prayer.
