Eduard Filippovich Mamikovsky - the pride of the Belarusian family Eduard Filippovich Mamkovsky - the pride of the Belarusian family but we remember! Remember the young, very green schoolchildren who have matured in one minute yesterday. Remember the tears of mothers who did not wait for their children from the Blood War. Remember the eternal hunger and fear for ourselves and loved ones.

Remember all the dead who saved us at the cost of our own lives. Now, more importantly, it is important to preserve the "living" memories of children of war. One of those who went through the volleys of war and made a significant contribution to the restoration of Belarus is my great -grandfather - Eduard Filippovich Mamkovsky. Born on March 15, in the village of Sherekhov of the Chekchsky district.

There were three children in the family of my great -grandfather - Arkady, Victor, sister Alena. Parents, Philip Georgievich and Matrena Nikolaevna, held a large household, worked on the collective farm. My great -grandfather always dreamed of becoming an educated person. He was attracted by the profession of a teacher. Before the war, he managed to finish 5 classes. When the war of the two brothers began to be taken to the front.

And my great -grandfather was only 14 years old. And like all boys of this age, he dreamed of going to the front. Great -grandfather could not indifferently watch the enemy trampling his native land. He began to keep in touch with the partisans. The younger brother, Arkady, fought in Czechoslovakia, survived and came home whole and unharmed. Victor fell into the hands of the Wehrmacht, captured, from where he successfully fled and returned home.

He was in the partisans, after some time he got to the anti-personnel mine and died of injury. The execution was carried out in the village of Shilovich, ”the great -grandfather recalled. As a partisan, Eduard Filippovich, with his comrades was in intelligence. There was a fierce winter outside. In order not to freeze, they constantly moved and the Germans found them.

The Germans detained the guys and took them to the commandant’s office for interrogation. After that, the great -grandfather and comrades were sent to the highest commandant's office. Despite his age, great -grandfather was a very strong spirit and a superior young man. At the time of escorting, the great -grandfather had an idea that he immediately told his comrades about.

He wanted to attack the Germans and take his weapons from him, but the guys did not agree and dissuaded him. It was very cold outside and the German alternately hid his hands in his pockets to warm them. At one of these moments, when the great -grandfather saw that the German was not holding the machine gun with two hands - he immediately attacked him and grabbed his throat.

The comrades grabbed the machine gun and hit their escort on the head. He fell, young partisans were able to escape. There are many stories from the war years, but my great -grandfather did not want to tell them all. I don’t want to remember this, but even more so to talk about it. It was on this day that I was wounded by an anti -personnel mine. Then he was in the hospital for a whole year and it was on December 7 that I was discharged.

I took out the wounded from the minefield, when I myself came across a mine and was injured. The soldiers of the Red Army carried me out of the field - from the memoirs of the great -grandfather. As well as media medals and 11 anniversary medals.
