Not enough about the relatives of the collector, the early memories of childhood and youth have not been preserved. In Tiflis, studying in the third male gymnasium, in which Aram Abramyan studied up to a year, there was an interest in the cause of his whole life - in medicine.

In his student years, surgery fascinated the young man, which later grew into a study of urological diseases. As a urologist, Abramyan wrote more works devoted to this area and became an important figure in Soviet medicine. His contribution to the culture of Armenia has no less significance than the merits in surgery. Aram Yakovlevich combined a professional interest in medicine with a love of literature and art.

He was a connoisseur of Russian painting, knowledge allowed the scientist to collect the panorama of the works of Russian art of the border of centuries. However, the collection of paintings by artists of the late XIX - early XX centuries did not represent a single whole for exhibiting in Moscow. The paintings were stored in the apartment of the medic, where he told the guests about each work and drove excursions around the rooms.

All artists of this association were connected by the desire for innovation and experiments with form and color. Abramen did not seek to subjugate his collection in one course, therefore, among the work of avant -garde, they do not get out of community.

Other works that have not taken shape in a single group are paintings by individual artists. Their work is not considered as a separate category, but the works of these artists occupy an important place in the collection.
